La Pulperia is a gem to the Upper East Side and Latin American dining scene. The restaurant group is co-owned by Victor Medina and Head Chef Carlos Barroz, with additional NYC locations in Hell’s Kitchen and Midtown East.
The food takes inspiration from simple Latin American dishes with influences from Spain and Italy. Decorated with handcrafted tiles from Mexico, reclaimed wood from Brazil, abundant displays of seasonings, oils and wine.
There is an inviting Bar showcasing Tequila bottles and a 3 piece latin Jazz band led by a singer/percussionist all put together to create a rustic ambience that have diners feeling warm and relaxed.We started the night off with La Pulperia special handcrafted cocktails.
I had the Upper East Side Lady, made with strawberry infused gin, lavender nectar and gold flakes and my guest had the Añejo Margarita with Espolon Tequila Añejo, Cointreau Noir & fresh lime juice. Both were refreshing and well-made.
Secrets Cap Cana Resort is a 5 star property in a gated community with beach front Villas & Suites facing the Caribbean sea located 15 minutes away from Air Punta Airport. Secrets Cap Cana is an all inclusive resort with top quality gourmet rated restaurants that guests with refined taste buds enjoy along with premium liquors, wines, coffee and teas. Wifi is included and gratuity is not needed here.
Secrets Cap Cana Resort’s Inclusive package also offers motorized and non motorized sports, pool food service, snack bars, buffet, and BBQ on beach. Secrets Cap Cana Resort is nicely set up for couples and honeymooners since this resort is styled to be spread out on acres of beach and never crowded to feel like a small resort with big resort facilities. There are plenty of options for a romantic getaway with private sunset dinners on the beach, bubble/essential oil/champagne jacuzzi baths, en suite rooms, couples massage from the luxurious resort spa and more. Choose a wedding package set in gorgeous surroundings with event specialists to provide your personalized wedding experience for special memories and beautiful photographs.
Accomodations have multi category rooms that range from Junior Suites to Preferred Club presidential Suite Villas with elegant tropical decor, flat screen tv’s, lux bathroom amenities, in-room liquor dispensers, mini bars and swimout pools.
Guests that are part of the Preferred Club have their own concierge service and outside preferred section conveniently located with private pool, first grade service, poolside menu or seated breakfast, lunch, snacks and complimentary pool floats.
The nightlife is fantastic with 7 specialty restaurants, nightly buffet and a different themed show every night of the week. I especially enjoyed the Sensual performance and the Himitsu and Oceana restaurants were my favorites. If you choose to have a quiet night in your suite; room service is available at no charge. I enjoyed ordering food & drinks from 1 of the restaurant’s for a romantic dinner set up for 2 on my terrace.
Want to do more on the property? Scuba diving and snorkeling equipment are available to rent. Off property excursions and tours are available to book in the main lobby. There are 3 nearby golf courses to choose from including the Punta Espada considered #1 course in the Caribbean and Mexico. When you’re part of the Premium package you can book all activities with your butler at the premium lobby.
JetBlue is my favorite way to go. I enjoyed my flight to the Dominican Republic hassle free and on time. The courteous staff, extra space / legroom, low lighting and upgraded air purifying system made for an easy sleep environment. Well rested I enjoyed complimentary wifi, snacks, drinks and a reasonably priced meal along with the newest movies; all making my flight feel shorter. Want more space to lay out and sleep the whole flight? upgrades are available for a nominal fee.
