NYFW starts off  Fashion Week SS18 in cities around the world and has the most action in fashion with tons of designers showing their collections, celebrities, parties and events. New York Fashion Week S/S 18 Shows/Presentations main venues – Skylight Clarkson Sq, Pier 59 Studios, The Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum, Spring Studios, The Armory and Metropolitan West were major players for shows this year with plenty of off venue event spaces. Thank goodness Via and Uber exit and are affordable since you couldn’t hoof it this season if you wanted to make the next show because chances of the next show being at the same venue was next to none. Even though this season was filled with rushing and running around there was a laid back natural look with cool playfulness in the shows making for an exciting NYFW SS18.

  • Women’s Health Magazine and the the FEED Foundation’s 6th Annual  Party Under The Stars Collaboration was held at the Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club to fight domextic hunger thru the philanthropic Run 10 Feed 10. The Inside event held the silent auction which benefited the FEED Foundation complete with catered spirits/wine d’oeuvres and music from  DJ Alexandra Richard.  The beach front part had a Live Reggae Band and a giant bonfire complete with welcoming wine. S’mores and sparkles.

There were tons of celebrities and  Guests at the beachside benefit including  Taraji P. Henson, Kelly Rutherford, Taryn Manning, Zosia Mamet, Kat De Luna, Ramy Brook, Eric West, Rebecca Minkoff, Monique Coleman, Jill Zarin, Josh Pais, Adriana De Moura, DJ Alex Merrell, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Chef Roblé, Ginger Zee, Tashiana Washington, Monika Chiang, Simone De La Rue, Megan Henderson, and Frances Rivera and more.

OCRFA Super Saturday 20th Annual Shopping Hamptons Event  #OCRFASuperSaturday #HamptonsHappening

This year’s 20th Anniversary Super Saturday Shopping Event to support (OCRFA) Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance  took place on July 29th at Nova’s Project in Water Mill, NY. This Year’s Event was just as spectacular with many hours of  shopping extravaganza presented by QVC that featured luxury name brands in high fashion, accessories, beauty, children’s apparel and house goods for 50% of retail and even deeper discounts making for amazing steals to be had.

Over 2000 people attended; supporters and  guests included designers, celebrities, editors,fashion lovers and their family enjoying the day. Ticket included full buffet lunch, full bar and dessert by New York’s best, Saint Ambroeus. Luxury experience tents were set up for flower crowns and jewelry, manicures by Kendra Scott and hairstyling by CONAIR. There was plenty to do for the kiddies with rides, snacks, miniature golf and more while parents shopped.

Brands that participated included: Urban Zen, Karl Lagerfeld, Donna Karen, alice+olivia, Dooney & Bourke, Bon Point, Dyson, Vilebrquin, Calypso, Milly, Shoshanna, Melissa Shoes and lots more. Kelly Ripa, Rachel Zoe, Donna Karen and Molly Sims came together to host this year. celebrities, socialites and politicians had attended to support. The best part is this year’s 20th Anniversary event made $3 million dollars for OCRFA. 

OCRFA was created in 2016 when they combined forces with Ovarian Cancer National Alliance into a full-spectrum organization for research funding, advocacy and patient support. OCRFA grew out of Ann Schreiber’s own personal experience with ovarian cancer. Liz Tilberis then editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar formed a team twenty years ago started in her back yard later stepping up to serve as OCRFA’s first president, propelling the organization to a national platform.  OCRFA is the largest non-government funder of ovarian cancer for innovative and promising research and continues to fight for NY policies on Capitol Hill.

QVC and OCFRA have joined forces for the cause benefitting OCFRA. Audra Moran was quoted as having said that each year the proceeds generated from QVC’s Super Saturday not only benefit women currently undergoing treatment for this horrible disease but also brings us one step closer to eradicating it once and for all. Diamante Eco– Adventure Park Located high above the Guanacaste coast a few miles drive from The Riu Palace and known for the longest dual ocean-view zip line cable in Central America called “Superman” where you speed over the gulf in a superhero position. Il Gattopardo Italian Restaurant is located on a beautiful block on the main floor of the Rockefeller townhouse across the street from the museum of Modern Art. Walking into the restaurant I felt an old world ambience along with a sleek layout/warm lighting and noticed real foodies serious about authentic fine Italian cuisine. Il Gattopardo imports most of their ingredients from Italy and offers a large variety of fine Prosecco, wine, beer and liquor from Italy’s family estates and independent Italian winemakers.

Dedicated Diners frequent Il Gattopardo including diplomats, celebs and museum goer’s for the food created by acclaimed Southern Forte Executive Chef Vito Gnazzo. Even though food is the most important part of visiting this restaurant the rate of service here nicely completes my dining  experience where I was both impressed and indulged by my career waiter who attended every need starting with excellent dedication of service, knowledge of menu selection including preparation, Italian ingredients, liquor and vineyards.

All my choices were satisfying but my favorites were the Homemade gnocchi moist and flavorful with Vesuvian Piennolo tomatoes from Campania for a sweet yet full bodied taste. The Herb crusted Colorado rack of lamb extremely tender full of juicy flavor served with complimenting potato croquettes and brown sauce. The Codfish was light, lemonly and smooth served with tomatoes and organic potatoes that rounded out the plate.

For a weekend gastronome retreat in the City enjoy Il Gattopardo’s Brunch & Lunch Neapolitan dishes menu 11:30–3pm with Live Jazz/Bossa Nova music included on Saturday. Weekday lunch is also available 12-3pm.

The Circle Line BBQ & Brews 1 hour dockside and 2 hour sun/fun cruise is the latest of Circle line cruises leaving from Pier 83 West 42nd street and 12th avenue. Let’s first talk about the history of Circle Line and how it’s been a significant part of the NYC harbor since 1945 hosting over 60 million passengers on their cruises earning them world-wide recognition as one of the best boat rides in the world.
