The Campbell NYC Offers An Elegant Dining Retreat Steeped In New York History

The Campbell NYC occupies the former private office of railroad tycoon John W. Campbell. Thoughtfully restored to evoke the glamour of the 1920s, the space preserves the character and grandeur of Campbell’s original office while showcasing its soaring architectural details, rich materials, and refined Art Deco-inspired design. The result is an atmosphere that feels both steeped in New York history and effortlessly elegant.

For our table of three, the evening unfolded over an extensive small-plates menu that offered something for everyone. We enjoyed a mix of familiar favorites and new dishes, each bringing its own distinctive flavor. The selections were ideal for sharing and made it easy to sample a variety of options throughout the evening.

We also enjoyed expertly crafted cocktails, made with premium spirits and quality ingredients. The GG Manhattan 2A, made with Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Carpano Antica sweet vermouth, Angostura bitters, and brandied cherries, delivered a rich, aged-spirit-forward taste with depth and warmth. The Just Lychee, made with Tito’s Vodka, lychee soju, cinnamon, and fresh lemon, offered a light and refreshing profile.

For an unforgettable Manhattan experience, The Campbell blends old-world elegance with Midtown energy. Tucked inside iconic Grand Central Terminal, this sophisticated cocktail lounge offers an inviting escape for after-work drinks, pre-dinner cocktails, or a memorable night out. With the subway and LIRR steps away, it’s an effortless destination that captures the timeless glamour of a New York evening.
